Apartment buildings where noise travel matters

Noise, neighbors, and apartment mining etiquette

Fans make mining audible. In multi-unit buildings near Daegu and other dense corridors, vibration through floors can matter as much as the raw decibel reading. Beginners who ignore shared walls often abandon hardware after the first complaint.

Place before you purchase

Stand where a frame might sit and listen at night with a portable fan running. Note bedrooms above or beside that wall. Soft pads under feet help, but they do not erase structure-borne noise. Sometimes the honest answer is a shed, balcony enclosure with weather protection, or waiting until you move.

Schedule courtesy

If you proceed, avoid aggressive fan curves during late hours when building codes and neighbor patience are thinnest. Document your own sound levels at the door and property line so you can adjust before someone else asks you to.

Talk early

When housemates share the lease, walk them through heat and noise expectations before parts arrive. Our Basics workshop includes a short etiquette checklist for apartments — bring your building layout if you have one.
